Hey brothers,
Just trying to figure out what kind of schedules everyone is working. How many hours your work week works out to be and number of platoons. Any other thoughts on if you like or dislike your schedules would be great too!

3 platoon, 48.6 hour work week, 48 hours on 96 hours off, 16 kelly days a year. Love this schedule!! When you are home you have a nice stretch, and 48 or 72 at work is excellent to work on projects and have follow up with vendors/contacts. We used to work the modified detroit like truckie942 and fatigue seems to be less with the 48/96.

Kent Fire works a three platoon "modified detroit" shift schedule. 1 on, 1 off, 1 on, 1 off, 1 on, 4 off.
Our average work week is 56 hours a week. We have 12 kelly days a year. We do work a lot, but we are also compensated very well.
I like our schedule a lot, but then again I love being at work.. We also have a lot of flexibility in our schedule, so you can get big chunks of time off. We have no rules as far as number of hours worked in a row. We can do 48's, 72's, etc.

Four platoon, 1 on 2 off, 1 on 4 off. Every 7 weeks or so we work a "debit shift," during a four day.
Love it, Shoreline fire works a 1 on 1 off, 1 on 5 off, not bad either.

Here at CKFR we work a orange county. 24-on,24-off,24-on,48-off,24 on,24 off 24 on 96-off. I know it seems complicated but we really like it. We work a 50hr week. 13 K-days. We hated the 24/48.

3 shifts, 48/96. This is our third year on it and I haven't heard anyone complain. We have 12 kelly days. We too used to work the modified detroit and I feel much less tired on the 48/96 than the M.D.

I'd be happy if you were at work 96 hours a week too (insert 70's porno music here)

Speaking of 70's porno music.
Joke: What are the two sexist animals on a farm?
Brown Chicken, Brown Cow.
ha ha ha ha ha ha
I know this as absolutely nothing to do with shift schedules, but Cox said 70's porno and it reminded me of the joke.
By the way I work 24/7. That is how us volunteers do.
