Upload them to a hosting site like www.tinypic.com or www.imageshack.us or any other number of sites. Then copy and paste the URL for websites and forums to the text box on your post. They should show up when you "preview" your post. Hope that helps. later

Follow up. The pictures turn out huge. How can I re-size them?

There is a pulldown on the upload page for resizing for avatar, email, message board etc. At least on tinypic. Hope this helps, we're approaching my technical limits!

Cox is spot on. The only other way to make the images smaller is to open them up in a image editor and re-size them there. I use photobucket.com and it also has a way to resize the images.

I use photo bucket as well, and the pictures never have needed to be resized. Cox, you kill me.

Berg...that's because you have your camera set for a smaller image size or your camera is older and doesn't take 8 - 10 mega pixel photos. You probably didn't even know that you can adjust the image size on your camera...did you?

Looking at Rob Fisher's hadsome little face staring back at me from all his posts, I gotta ask, how do you post a picture on that profile sidebar like that?

Bryan,
First, you need to find a picture that you'd like to use. Since you liked my photo, I have several more of me that you can use. Then, you need to modify the selected photo to an avatar size. Some photo programs have an avatar setting as one of their sizes. I think the forums wants the photo to be 80 pixels x 80 pixels, or only 60KB.
Once you have the photo sized correctly your ready to upload it to your profile on the forums. Log on to your account on the forums. At the top of the page to the right of Logout [you profile name here] you'll see User Control Panel...cick it. At the left select Profile. Then, select edit avatar. Upload image from you computer. I think the rest should be fairly self explanatory.
Good luck!
