I'm not sure if this has been passed around before, but definitely worth the time to view. A great pictorial history of the fire service (FDNY) that compliments both The Brave (George Pickett) and Report From Engine Co. 82 (Dennis Smith). Mike Dick's photos will elicit pure pride in the service and absolute breathtaking excitement, coupled with scenes that can only be described as horrific. He has compiled in images the very essence of what we do and have done unselfishly for over a hundred years and why we do it. Some of the pictures are graphic, so tread carefully.

Ahhh, the golden age. I wonder how many mutts them fellers had to deal with? Slim to none I bet.

Yes Van, that has been posted before, but never be afraid to repost the classics. Great fire porn!

I emailed Mike Dick in regards to pics (he is the photographer), mainly to thank him for sharing, and he advised that he is just about complete with a whole new set to post, so keep a look out for them in the coming months. Apparently all the pics are on slides so he has to digitize each one before posting them.

I can't wait. Truly captures the grit of FDNY
